Independence Golf Club is thrilled as part of our Veteran’s Day Suit for Soldiers charity event with Summit Media to have New York Times bestselling author and retired Navy SEAL, Lieutenant Jason Redman. Jason electrifies audiences with his high energy presentations on leadership, failure, redemption, catastrophic injury, and his breathtaking journey to overcome all. Lt. Jason Redman spent ten years as an enlisted Navy SEAL and ten years as a SEAL Officer leading SEAL teams in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Independence is proud to recognize the brave men and women who have served our country by offering complimentary rounds of golf to Veterans on Veterans Day. How can you help if you’re not playing golf? Stop by and donate gently used men’s and women’s suits to help our Veterans transition back into the workforce. Come out to support and help honor our military men and women. Veterans, please call Independence Pro Shop to book your tee time in advance at 804-601-8612. Space is limited.

Needed for MEN: DRY CLEANED gently worn, currently styled suits, blazers, sport coats and companion slacks, new dress shirts or gently used shirts (with no ring around the collar) and ties, no shoes or casuals
Needed for WOMEN: DRY CLEANED pantsuits, suiting, dresses, blouses, and tops, skirts all which should be interview-appropriate, no shoes or casuals
About Boots To Suits:
Established on Veterans Day 2014, is a non-profit clothing program located in Richmond, Virginia which provides complimentary apparel to transitioning men and women Veterans who are leaving the military and re-entering civilian life. By partnering with the Virginia Transitioning Assistance Program, McGuire’s Veteran’s Hospital, and the Virginia Employment Commission, we are serving Veterans from every corner of our state. To date, the program has helped hundreds of Veterans by outfitting them with two career outfits enabling them to look and feel their best for their interviews and non-military work environments. Military spouses of Wounded Warriors who are job-seeking and are the primary household provider are also eligible for this opportunity. To keep our program running, we accept cash donations, corporate/ foundation grants, along with gently used apparel donated by individuals or company clothing drives within the community.
