Staff / Sydney STEAM Club I Classes: For ages 4 1/2yrs. to 8yrs.
Staff / Franco STEAM Club II Classes: For ages 9yrs. to 14 yrs.
The Engineering for Kids curriculum has been designed to bring science, technology, engineering, art and math (S.T.E.A.M), to kids ages 41/2 to 14, in a fun, engaging, and challenging way. Engineering is, after all, one of the fastest growing industries in the world! By its nature, the study of robotics and engineering activities not only encompass all four pillars of STEM education, but will also encourage important skills like teamwork, communication, and project-based organization. During our Saturday classes your child will be fully engaged in a project from one of our amazing STEAM topics. They will face interesting challenges, brainstorm, construct, create, and most of all have fun!! Through both robotics and STEAM education we provide children with the important building blocks necessary to use their mathematical and computational ideas, while also learning to think creatively and reason systematically.

Engineering for Kids STEAM Club Curriculum Topics:

Engineering and Robotics: Students will invent new machines and explore creative design solutions for several projects using the engineering design process. Students will also discover the many uses of motors and sensors as they learn about building and coding their own Lego® robotics by using our computers to program their completed models. 

 Makey Makey™ Musical Adventures: Do you dance around and play the air drum solo? In Musical Adventures with Scratch and Makey Makey™, we are going to explore how different sounds are created and we will create our own interpretations of common musical instruments like drums, piano, guitar, and even a recorder. Through the use of Makey Makey™ and Scratch you can bring music to life!

Civil Engineering: Building of Cities- During our Civil Engineering program, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a Truss bridge designed to withstand the greatest force. They examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures.

Aerospace Engineering: This program introduces our young engineers to fundamental concepts of aircraft and spacecraft design. Through open and focused exploration, students will construct airplanes, rockets, hot air balloons, and more.

Engineering Investigators: Forensic Engineering: Become a forensics engineer and find out who stole the blueprints for a secret, new design. Using principles of investigative science and forensic engineering, students will analyze evidence in the simulated crime scene using math, science, and technology.

Chemical Engineering: Students will use the Engineering Design Process to plan, create, test, and refine various mixtures and solutions with different chemical properties. The projects will include: developing solutions to clean up an oil spill, make ice cream, investigate the secrets behind color pigmentation, and how to make a water filtration system.
